American Business Brokers Association: Business Appraisals

The American Business Brokers Association offers two levels of business appraisal services:

The least expensive valuation service we offer is a "Business Pricing." In this service we will give you our professional opinion on approximately what price a particular business should sell for. You simply complete a short one page questionnaire and fax it to us. We then take this information and using the professional valuation guidelines derived from a database of thousands of completed transactions, calculate the approximate selling price for the business in question. Our conclusion on the probable selling price will be given to you in writing on ABBA letterhead signed by the president of the association. Pricing Questionnaire

The second valuation, available by special discounted arrangement through the ABBA, is a formal appraisal done by one of the nation's most respected business valuation firms. The detailed conclusions of value are thoroughly documented in a 40-page report. This type appraisal is often required by banks and the SBA for loan applications. It is also used for IRS issues, divorce problems, estate planning and the measurement of management performance. The fee for this appraisal, done by one of the top valuation firms in the country, is discounted to $3,400 if arranged through the ABBA.
